Also in Sept - Oct 2012

I don't feel like i've been so busy, but I can't argue with it when I put it in print.  In the last 6 weeks I've also been in rehearsals for La Divina Cariacatura by Lee Breuer and Basil Twist's puppet commission to the Rite of Spring.  I started spooking people at the Horsman's Hollow Haunted Experience,  I performed my Manifesto for Performing Design at the Clockworks, and I reworked the puppets from Beauty and the Beast.  Keep it coming.

Burning Man

It seems I forgot to mention that I went to Burning Man this year with Reverend Billy's Stop Shopping Gospel Choir.  We performed all over the playa, even singing through a whiteout dust storm for a wedding.  We shared a kitchen with the Temple Crew, which was glorious.  Here we are singing on the Temple Crew's bus.

Rite

Ooh, lucky me. I do like abstract puppetry, Stravinksy, and Basil Twist. So i'm very happy to be in North Carolina working on the development of Twist's puppet commission of The Rite of Spring at Carolina Performing Arts. To be performed in April 2013. www.carolinaperformingarts.org

Eye Show Development at Standard Toykraft

June June June was FULL of puppetry. In fact I did nothing, but work on The Eye Which We Do Not Have. As the newest full-length imnotlost show, it is shaping up. We presented 20 minutes of new material at Standard Toykraft after a monthlong residency in Williamsburg. Photos and video will be posted asap at www.imnotlost.net/eye.html

Little Broken Hearts

Back in May I directed the Live Video Animation for Jonny Clockworks puppet show, Little Broken Hearts. It was commissioned by Nora Jones herself and we premiered it at her CD release party at the Box. Fancy! www.cosmicbicycle.com

Cherry Blossoms in the springtime

I have had the pleasure of spending a full thirty days in Washington D.C. between March and April.  I puppeteered the head of the Ballerina in Basil Twist's PETRUSHKA at the Shakespeare theater  and Basil's mesmerizing and fantastic DOGUGAESHI at the Studio Theater.  Thanks D.C.!

tidbits in March

In March I had the pleasure of performing for the Illustrious Minerva Durham at her studio in Soho.  I pulled out my version of Hamlet in cardboard.  Always fun when i bring on the tank.

And at the last minute the super cool clown John Leo (well his clown is kind of a nerd!) needed some last minute acts.  Poof clown was released and I felt nervous, but excited to perform in the center of such a tiny tiny space!
